LUX CURATED BY CARIBOU
Green Ray 2012

“Sometimes everything just works out perfectly. Right after I was asked to curate a night at Lux, I heard that legendary Afro-psychedelic legends the Pyramids were playing shows together again after, as far as I was aware, a hiatus of over 30 years. Having always been one of my favourite bands based on their 3 brilliant independently released albums in the 1970s I never dreamt that I would get to see them live - let alone be able to ask them to join a night like this.

Next, always on speed dial for an event like this, I called Kieran ‘Four Tet’ Hebden. Little did I know that he hasn't played live in Portugal for almost a decade!

Finally, Floating Points, has been making sizable waves around him of late and deservedly so - carving out a musical space all of his own in the overcrowded world of contemporary music.

Becoming friends with him over the last year has been inspiring and edifying. He’s not only a brilliant producer, composer, arranger (and neuroscientist) but also one of my favourite DJs.
Sometimes things work out so perfectly it's hard to believe. But not very often. See you on Jan 20th”.
